This is a compilation torrent containing all the visual novels that were translated during the [al|together 2006 festival](https://apothes.is/hosted/at2006/index.html). One will find most of the translated VNs are still hosted at the festival's homepage and various other places; however, in an effort to perpetuate these titles' availability, this torrent was created. Please note that while many of the included titles have versions for various platforms (Windows, Linux, and OSX-PowerPC), some will only have their Windows release due to my inability to find the other platforms' versions. Finally, I hope you enjoy. There's everything from beauty to insanity to be found here. --- ### Manifest [Hitonatsu no Yume (A Dream of Summer)](https://vndb.org/r152) > Toshiki, the realist. > Mizuna, the girl he met on the roof. > And BROY, the school band whose members surround them. > > It's the summer of their third year, and Toshiki must face not only the school festival, but also a promise that he may never be able to fulfil. [Adagio](https://vndb.org/v222) > A young composer passes by an auditorium and chances upon a dancing performance that changes his very life ... [Natsu no Owari ni (At Summer's End)](https://vndb.org/v209) > At summer’s end, we move into new classes; the season changes into autumn; the leaves change color; but what of our friendships and our loves? [Collage](https://vndb.org/v283) > Three ordinary people are thrown together, and each retells events in his or her own voice in this unconventionally told, uniquely presented, and ultimately very human novella. [Hissatsu Panda Samurai (Instant Death! Panda Samurai)](https://vndb.org/v227) > Once upon a time, there lived a panda samurai, brave and true. > > The rest, dear reader, is up to you! [Manatsu no Kagerou (Midsummer Haze)](https://vndb.org/v62) > Kasumi’s just a lazy schoolgirl who wants to go shopping with her friends. So why are they acting so nervously around her today? [Watashi no Kuroneko (My Black Cat)](https://vndb.org/v72) > All cats have opinions, but few get to speak their minds. Don-kichi, however, can talk, and he has a tale to tell – of his mistress Aki, and of the one discovery that could threaten their life together... [Wasurenagusa no Yoru (Night of the Forget-Me-Nots)](https://vndb.org/v286) > Makoto is on her way to the drama club’s spring retreat when she gets lost in the woods, so she’s pretty glad to meet up with another lost *. Taking him under her wing, she heads for the old school where the retreat is going to take place, blissfully unaware of what lies in wait... [Otoko Dogeza Jigoku (OMGWTFOTL)](https://vndb.org/v53) *This is the VN that necessitates this torrent's place at sukebei.* > GENUFLECT OR DIE! Now, finally, the lunatic novel game which received enthusiastic applause from ... an incredibly small number of rabid Japanese fans ... comes to invade the English-speaking world! This piece will have you going OMG, WTF, and OTL (A pictogram of someone falling on hands and knees in despair) all at once. > > **Not appropriate for those under the age of 18 or those with delicate sensibilities.** [Hoshi no Furu Oka (Shooting Star Hill)](https://vndb.org/v59) > There’s one at every school – the quiet, aloof girl that nobody really wants to get to know. But this one catches Chihiro’s eye when he discovers she's a fan of the cult British science fiction films he loves... and that really leaves him with very few options. [Natsu, Semi, Shoujo (Summer, Cicadas, and the Girl)](https://vndb.org/v108) > Boy meets girl. Boy wants to meet girl again, and arranges a date. Girl doesn't show up. > > Saito’s pretty sure she was interested too, so he’s not just going to give up. All he has to do is figure out what happened to her... [The World to Reverse.](https://vndb.org/v287) > *hallucinate*, the world within: a spite-filled girl, a cruel white room, an unspeakable crime. > *Flanca*, the world without: the boy backstage, the forgotten bouquet, the man in black, the painter. > > A pair of powerful, uncompromising, and unconventional short stories. > > **Not appropriate for those under the age of 15.** [Mukou no Yume (Visions from the Other Side)](https://vndb.org/v58) >Here a dream, there a dream, and the shades of an otherworld that spreads beyond the gate of death. Where will you go? Where will your disembodied feet lead you? > > ... may the road come up to meet you, and may you never tread on cantankerous fish. [Sora no Mayoibito (Wanderers in the Sky)](https://vndb.org/v281) > The protagonist finds himself wandering in a world of loss, unable to remember exactly what was missing. Through the help of people in his life, he finally starts remembering ... [Tokoyo no Hoshizora (Red Shift)](https://vndb.org/v52) > This is how the most selfish girl in the world and the most selfish boy in the world make peace: > > Bells in the darkness that ensnare Heaven's silver light inside the inscrutable polyphony of far-off constellations. [Flood of Tears](https://vndb.org/v224) > An annoying protagonist, an ordinary school life, a few friends here and there. This is the story of a young man who falls in love willingly, and perhaps of a couple young women who fall in love somewhat less willingly. --- ### Festival Information > al|together is a festival of translated free novel games. > > For translators, it provides an irresistible challenge: take a work, of any length, and localise it in just 31 days. And for the audience, it presents a rare opportunity to see some of the finest noncommercial works in > this vibrant and varied genre opened up to a wider readership. > > Last year’s inaugural festival was an unqualified success, ultimately producing eight translations. And that was organised on a whim: there was almost no notice given, and none of the participants had much idea > what would be involved. This year, let’s build on that experience to stretch ourselves further, to enjoy an even wider variety of titles and styles, and to further enrich the stock of titles available to move and inspire > the English-speaking world. > > If you want to know more about al|together, you might like to have a look at last year’s site – not only to read about how the festival came to be in the first place, but also, if you have not yet done so, to play some > of the works we translated. Thus ‘by our fruits ye shall know us.’ --- ### Credit Credit goes to the wondrous people who created, translated/released, preserved, and shared these visual novels.
